Martial Arts Styles
would the following Martial arts styles be a good combination of formal training to begin a career in MMA?
Tae Kwon Do, BJJ, boxing, judo, and kickboxing?
That would make you well rounded, but a couple of them I would do 1 or the other. For example, if you’re doing kickboxing, there’s no need to also do boxing, since a quality kb school will teach how to box. Judo and Bjj both work with body manipulation, however BJJ is just the sport part of a martial art. So instead of either of them I would suggest either Aiki-jujutsu or just Judo. Taekwondo is good instead of kickboxing, but only if you find a quality school, other wise stick with kickboxing.
So basicaly what I would suggest if you’re using these for MMA is; Judo and kickboxing.
If you start doing a bunch of arts at once, you’ll become a “jack of all trades, and master of none”. Judo and kickboxing will take care of all the areas you want for MMA.
The most important thing is quality, the style doens’t matter at all in comparison to the quality of the school.
